Packager - 2nd Shift

Hours: M-TH 3:00pm – 1:30am 

Location: Menomonee Falls, WI

Reports to: Quality Department

Position Summary

The Packager – 2nd Shift role is a skilled and experienced team member responsible for accurately and efficiently packing products for shipment with minimal supervision. They perform advanced packaging tasks, conduct quality inspections, and contribute to process improvements. The Packager may also be involved in mentoring junior staff and ensuring that all team members follow safety and quality standards. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Complex packaging: Handle and prepare larger, more complex, or fragile items for shipment, selecting specialized packing materials and techniques to prevent damage during transit.
  • Advanced quality assurance: Conduct final quality control inspections to verify product integrity, accuracy of orders, and adherence to packing specifications.
  • Material handling: Utilize material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or scanners, to move products and update inventory systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of packed items, including order information, weights, and any special handling instructions.
  • Equipment operation: Operate and troubleshoot specialized packaging machinery, such as automated sealing or labeling equipment.
  • Training and mentorship: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new or junior Packer 1 team members.
  • Process improvement: Assist supervisors in monitoring workflow and identifying opportunities to improve packaging efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Safety leadership: Act as a role model for safety, ensuring all team members adhere to company safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. 

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience in regulated environment such as ISO 13485:2016 or 21CFR Part 210/211 or 820.
  • Proven experience as a Packer 1 or in a similar production/warehouse role.
  • Proficiency in interpreting complex work orders, packing specifications, and shipping documents.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. 

 

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and moving packages up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
